Albany Junior High School is a modern state co-educational high school (opened in 2005) catering specifically for the needs of students from the ages of 10 to 15. The school is located on Auckland’s scenic North Shore in New Zealand. We have a strong academic focus, with excellent results, a reputation for improving learning, and high quality teaching across all area including the arts.

Students work towards and gain qualifications on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework in all subjects, with a particular emphasis on catering for students with high ability in subjects, for example English, Mathematics, Science.

As a modern school we are endowed with modern facilities, in particular information and communication technologies, and with a strong focus on modern and practical teaching methods. The School has a roll in 2020 of 1300 students, with 40 International students (Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Saudi Arabian, and Thai).

We provide a comprehensive English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) program which caters for the full range of English language abilities from the beginner to the experienced. Students transition into English speaking curriculum classes as and when they are able. We also offer language courses in French, Spanish, Japanese and Maori.

The High Standard level of Homestay accommodation is arranged through the school with specialist staff on hand at the school to ensure the highest level of security and comfort for your child.
