About Darfield
Darfield sits west of Christchurch on the Canterbury Plains, known as the “Gateway to the Great Alpine Highway.” It supports the surrounding farming community and offers easy access to rivers, skifields and high-country recreation.
Canterbury Region
The Canterbury Region on New Zealand’s South Island is a region of dramatic contrast — from sweeping plains, mighty braided rivers and the high Southern Alps through to coastal beaches at the Pacific. It encompasses the major city of Christchurch and wide rural districts, making it both a centre of culture and a backbone of agriculture and industry. The region’s economic strength, combined with space for growth and educational infrastructure, makes it well-suited for international students who want access to big-city amenities and outdoor adventure.
