Wainuiomata High School
Secondary school in Lower Hutt, New Zealand
Wainuiomata High School is a state co-educational secondary school with 600 students. The facilities are being upgraded in 2020 with 45 million dollars in funding from the Government. The school also has new academic programmes and Semester based courses for all students.
The new school will facilitate open classrooms that support integrated courses. These new learning spaces will help students to interact and collaborate.
Also we have a new outdoor education course for senior students. The students can gain credits by getting involved in a number of activities such as kayaking, mountain biking and tramping.
Future proof yourself with courses that cater for 21st century learning. Our new courses are broken into semesters similar to the structure of University programmes. Semester A begins in February and Semester B in late June. Wednesday is dedicated to "My Personal Learning Day" (MPLD). This allows students to set their own learning goals based on what they are passionate about.
